Time Marches On
There are lots of significant changes occurring in my life right now but I seem to be more concerned with those less significant. Lately I’ve noticed that my gray hair is multiplying at a rapid rate. The first few gray hairs I noticed didn’t bother me but lately my entire part has gray. My father was gray in his late twenties so I guess it shouldn’t surprise me. Oh well, thank God for Clairol! I’ve also noticed that dark circles under my eyes are darker than before and just today a young teen called me Mrs. (last name). I know he was only using the excellent manors he’s been taught but geez; I’m not that old yet!
Where did time go? Wasn’t I just sixteen last week!?!?!? I know I’m young (relatively speaking) but man some days I feel sooo old!

Oh, boy. We’re going to have to plan a major bash for your thirtieth. Otherwise, you’re going to be completely depressed, aren’t you? (: Don’t worry. There are times when I look in the mirror and don’t recognize the face staring back. I’ve heard my dad react with disbelief when he sees a picture of himself: “I’m becoming a white-headed old man!” Most of the time, he doesn’t seem to have aged a bit. But when I really look, I guess he has. As are we all! I figure it’s inevitable, so why not embrace it as much as we can? But yes, thank goodness for hair color and makeup and flattering clothing….

This week, I also noticed that I’m not as young as I used to be. I was trying to finish-off the third plate at the Chinese buffet, but just couldn’t do it. Back in my college days, I’d have put at least 5 away.

I’m glad I don’t have to claim the “gray hair genes”. I lay claim to the dark circles and wrinkles genes. You are still very beautiful.
